Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist

Join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital as an EEG Technologist II, where you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
About the Role:The EEG Technologist II will perform a variety of electroneurodiagnostic procedures on patients with suspected neurologic injury and disease. This includes routine and extended video EEG, portable video EEG, and other specialized tests.
Responsibilities:- Prepare patients for testing and collect information pertinent to the interpretation of test results.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures, including age-related competencies.
- Apply leads according to the International 10:20 System and adapt recording methods and instrumentation to obtain results.
- Recognize and eliminate artifact and electrical interference to obtain high-quality tracings.
- Provide patient care and detailed observations of clinical manifestations during seizures and other patient-emergency situations.
- Assist the Evoked Potential Specialist in performing Evoked Potential procedures as necessary.
- Participate in conferences, technical meetings, and other educational activities.
- Write summaries of patient neurological status and clinical history.
- Explain procedures to patients and family members.
- Answer phones, schedule procedures, and attend to front office responsibilities.
- Facilitate equipment and patient transportation.
- Maintain department records and prepare tracings for storage.
- Contribute to the Continuous Quality Improvement program.
- Must be a technologist eligible for registration by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists.
- Must have two years of experience in electroencephalography.
- Must have a current CPR certificate.
- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field preferred.
- Proficient in computer operations.
The EEG Technologist II will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 30 pounds, stand or sit for extended periods, and transport equipment as needed.
