Job Responsibilities:


Administers patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation environment where acute care patients receive active treatment for injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, or post-intervention assessments.


Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions

• Evaluates patient needs and formulates/revises a personalized care plan based on individual requirements and responses. Monitors the patient's progress toward achieving expected outcomes.

• Fosters diversity by cultivating respectful relationships with all team members and clients.

• Acts as a patient and family advocate.


• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for the patients served in their assigned area.

• Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.

• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.

• Exemplifies the role model for staff and supports the hospital and nursing department's objectives and strategies.


• Displays knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan, assesses data reflective of the patient's status, and interprets the necessary information to identify each patient's requirements concerning their age-specific needs.

• Coordinates care and delegates appropriately to other team members for a defined group of patients.

• Documents patient care competently, skillfully, and consistently, adhering to all required and regulatory standards. This includes but is not limited to patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety.

• Demonstrates proficiency in nursing skills and the use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit/department-specific requisite skills.

• Prioritizes patient care continuously in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.

• Engages in effective problem identification and resolution.

Qualifications:
Education/Training

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.

Licensure/Certification

• Maintains a current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.

• Holds current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC certifications are required for specific areas. NRP is required for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Experience

• A minimum of 6 months of experience as a Rehabilitation RN is preferred.
