Job Responsibilities:

The Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist is responsible for administering patient care in a hospital or inpatient setting where acute care is provided. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patient needs and creating or updating individualized care plans
  • Evaluating patient progress towards expected outcomes
  • Building respectful relationships with team members and patients
  • Advocating for patients and their families
  • Demonstrating knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care
  • Serving as a preceptor, charge nurse, or unit educator
  • Collaborating with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams
  • Coordinating care and delegating tasks to team members
  • Documenting patient care accurately and consistently
  • Prioritizing patient care in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC) may be required based on the area of practice
  • Preferred experience of 6 months in rehabilitation nursing
