Role Overview:
The Practicum Coordinator plays a crucial role in partnering with students, academic leaders, and faculty to facilitate the effective execution of practice experience requirements for nursing programs. This position involves close collaboration with the Assistant/Associate Dean of Nursing and Healthcare Programs, as well as the Dean of Nursing and Healthcare Programs, to uphold the integrity of the program and foster enriching learning experiences in a virtual setting. While this role may be conducted remotely, candidates must ensure their home internet connection meets the necessary speed standards and adhere to specified hardware configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide students regarding practice experience prerequisites
- Work in partnership with Program Chairs and faculty members
- Maintain ongoing communication with students via email and virtual office hours
- Revise and update documentation and protocols related to practice experiences
- Ensure adherence to clinical scheduling systems and software
- Oversee student records within designated platforms
- Collaborate with various departments to fulfill practice experience obligations
- Assess preceptor qualifications and review student performance
Required Qualifications:
A Master's degree in nursing is preferred, along with experience in educational settings, clinical nursing, leadership, or administrative roles. An unencumbered Registered Nursing License is mandatory.
