About the Role

Calloway & Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer I to join our team in Frankfort, KY. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural systems for highway structures, including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical engineering work to develop practical skills in support of academic theory
  • Develop and review engineering design project calculations for highway structures in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
  • Design and detail structures using Microstation and other office tools
  • Review and analyze data, plan details, and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to design calculations, code, and constructability
  • Maintain and prepare records and reports, including calculation folders, documentation of code adherence, and cost estimates
Requirements
  • Civil Engineer degree, preferably in civil engineering
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals Exam (F/E)
  • Experience and/or interest in structural design (bridges)
  • Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and KYTC requirements
  • Proficiency in Microstation and other office tools
