Electrical Test Technician

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Test Technician to join our team at nVent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in advancing our success and ensuring a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

  • Conduct thorough and accurate performance tests on electrical components and products as requested.
  • Collaborate with engineers to modify and expand test plans and procedures.
  • Generate detailed and concise written reports of test results, drawing sound conclusions and observations.
  • Set up and operate lab equipment, contributing to the organization and layout of the lab for increased efficiency.
  • Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings to create prototype parts, assemblies, and products as requested.
  • Design and build equipment and fixtures to conduct testing.
  • Assist in maintaining the calibration of lab equipment.
  • Work with agency representatives and inspectors to facilitate lab and manufacturing inspections.
  • Coordinate and manage off-site testing.
  • Support new product development activities, including design reviews and conceptual design events.
  • Assist engineers with design and development of test machinery and equipment as required.
  • Provide testing and engineering support for Engineered Solution and Value Engineering projects.
  • Conduct independent technical research.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Electrical, electronics, or HVAC training or experience.
  • At least two years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing company with a background in an engineering test lab.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Ability to read and operate standard engineering instruments.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and test station operation.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.
