Job Summary:

Waste Connections is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at our facility in Ramsey, MN. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all vehicles are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, as well as perform welding and vehicle washing duties.
  • Operate various collection vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment to facilitate job duties.
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are operated in accordance with DOT, OSHA, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform safety inspections and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate electrical diagnostic equipment, overhead cranes, truck hoists, forklifts, and other specialized equipment.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or 1+ year of experience combined with a Diesel Tech degree.
  • Must have own tools and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work 8-10 hour days, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays.
