Job Title: Youth Sports Coordinator

Join the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows team as a Youth Sports Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of young athletes.

Job Summary:

The Youth Sports Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the organization and efficiency of day-to-day athletics operations, including administrative needs, volunteer management, and ensuring a safe and professional environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to recruit volunteer coaches and potential players for leagues, including Junior Giants and Ballers.
  • Facilitate volunteer coach interviews, processing, and team assignments, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all.
  • Manage volunteer head and assistant coaches, providing necessary training and support.
  • Conduct parent orientation meetings, outlining expectations and participation requirements.
  • Implement schedules, communicate times, dates, courts, and changes to volunteers and families.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with site vendors, including tournament reservations and purchasing orders.
  • Resolve player and parent issues, seeking support from the Athletics Director as needed.
  • Maintain inventory, order uniforms, and ensure program safety protocols are upheld.
  • Plan and organize events, such as the Ballers home basketball tournament and Family Day event.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months experience working in a childcare or school setting, planning and supervising youth and teen activities.
  • Experience with or knowledge of youth sports highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The position involves working with a diverse population of adults and children, and the ability to demonstrate compassion and sportsmanship is essential.
