Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced engineer to contribute to the Gun Weapons System Replacement Program (GWSRP). The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Assisting in the removal, installation, refurbishment, and modernization of various weapon systems associated with the GWSRP.
  • Providing support at the GWSRP Repair Shop and during shipboard operations.
  • Creating technical drawings and procedures for scheduled repairs and refurbishments of Electro-Optic Directors, Daylight Imaging Sensors, and Thermal Imaging Sensors.
  • Offering technical assistance for projects requiring support for the MK 46 Optical Sight Sensor (OSS) and MK 20 Electro-Optical Sight Sensor (EOSS).
  • Conducting repairs and refurbishments on components of the MK 46 OSS and MK 20 EOSS utilized by the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, as well as foreign military sales.
  • Overseeing quality inspections and ensuring proper corrosion proofing and finishing on vendor work.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possession of the Gun Weapon System (MK 160) Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience in reading, interpreting, and developing Engineering Drawings and schematics.
  • Strong report writing skills and the ability to develop technical documentation, including manuals and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with various personnel.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Familiarity with MS Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • An active Secret clearance is mandatory for consideration.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of an active Security Clearance.

Security Clearance:

Applicants must have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance. Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a DoD security clearance, including a background check covering criminal history, employment, education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
