Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Cardinal Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in filling prescription orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepare medication for dispensing, packaging, and shipment, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Take inventory, place orders, check in drugs and supplies, and stock shelves, ensuring a well-organized and efficient pharmacy environment.
  • Enter medical supply orders into the pharmacy system, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, including patients, clinics, caregivers, and physicians, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Input patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system, ensuring accuracy and security.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Maine Pharmacy Technician license/registration or ability to obtain.
  • National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) preferred.
  • Inpatient/hospital experience preferred.
  • IV experience preferred.
  • Chemotherapy experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology, including computers, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks.
  • Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area.
  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training, and certifications.
  • Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution.
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
  • Adheres to all quality guidelines.
  • Works under moderate degree of supervision.
