Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Penobscot Community Health Center. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients by demonstrating respect, kindness, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Medication Support: Assist pharmacists in the preparation, organization, and dispensing of medications.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain pharmacy inventory, anticipating needed medications and supplies, and placing/expediting orders as appropriate.
  • Cashier Functions: Perform pharmacy cashier functions, collecting and reconciling payment for prescriptions and pharmacy merchandise.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in maintaining compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Patient Engagement: Engage and support patients to ensure they feel heard, respected, and involved in their care.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with pharmacy and practice teams to improve the patient experience and clinic processes.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registration: Registered as a Pharmacy Intern in the state of Maine required.
  • Driving Record: Having a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and/or an appropriate length of driving experience for insurance purposes is required.
