About the Role

ECS Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead our site characterization and remediation group in the Northern Virginia market. This is a unique opportunity for a senior professional to enhance our technical expertise and business development activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in supporting our well-established contracts with the Virginia Department of Transportation.
  • Scope and direct subsurface investigations, evaluate environmental risk, and prepare remedial action plans and recommendations.
  • Execute and manage fieldwork, ensure quality assurance on reports, and interface with clients and regulators.
  • Oversee the work of others and manage small and complex projects of various types.
  • Prepare project proposals and budgets, including complex proposals in response to publicly solicited requests for proposals.
  • Lead business development initiatives within the operating group(s).
  • Serve as a technical resource to junior staff in their area(s) of expertise.
  • Review technical deliverables, invoices, and field reports prepared by junior staff.
Requirements
  • BS or MS in Geology or a discipline related to Environmental Science.
  • 7+ years of Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Virginia Petroleum, Brownfields, and Voluntary Remediation Programs is highly desirable.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
