Job Title: Athletic Trainer

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our sports medicine staff, you will provide medical care and health education to ensure the safety of our student-athletes.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide medical care and health education to ensure the safety of, reduce the risk of injury to, and guide the rehabilitation of Brown student-athletes under the guidance of the Director of Sports Medicine. This position will serve as primary athletic trainer for sports to be determined by the Director of Sports Medicine, including some travel.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical care and health education to student-athletes
  • Reduce the risk of injury to student-athletes
  • Guide the rehabilitation of student-athletes
  • Work with the Director of Sports Medicine to determine sports and travel assignments
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, required; Master's Degree, preferred
  • RI Athletic Training License required (to be obtained prior to hire date)
  • NATABOC Certification, required
  • Maintain NATABOC Certification Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every reporting period, as required
  • A minimum of one year of relevant athletic training experience required
  • Appropriate Emergency Cardiac Care certification as required by the BOC
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication & computer skills, necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students
  • Strong work ethic, passion for the profession and commitment to student-athletes
  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment
  • Basic proficiency in excel, word, internet & email capabilities
  • Experience with electronic medical records system, helpful
