Responsibilities
  • Perform patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN.
  • Assist with routine and complex medical assistant clinical duties, including vital sign collection, medication administration, and diagnostic testing.
  • Maintain patient charts and records, ensuring accurate identification, documentation, and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to a clean and healthy environment by adhering to Universal Precaution guidelines and safety standards.
  • Order, verify, and store unit supplies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • One year work experience preferred.
  • Certificate verifying successful completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited school.
  • Current AHA BLS certification is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) is required.

Work Environment

Emory Healthcare is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment. The physical demands of this role include lifting 20-50 pounds, occasional standing and walking, and close eye work.
