About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Professional to join our team at the State of Oregon. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret contract documents for major and minor construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Compile data and apply engineering computations to design simple projects, utilizing advanced mathematics and computer programs.
  • Assist in performing detailed surveys and calculations using manual and electronic survey equipment, computers, and complex software.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify potential problems, propose solutions, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Monitor safety procedures and methods, traffic control, and pollution control plans to ensure contract work is performed in accordance with documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation-related engineering, or completion of and passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships with others.
  • Strong working knowledge of mathematics, material testing procedures, land surveying, and highway construction methods.
