Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer to join our team at Electrical Consultants, Inc. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for configuring and producing engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations.
Key Responsibilities- Configuring and producing engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations
- Designing the installation of RTUs, DDFRs, PMUs, ethernet switches, and HMI systems
- Working with design teams on conceptual, preliminary, and final design of station projects 4.16 kV through 500 kV
- Producing one-line, three-line, schematics, panel elevations and wiring diagrams for high voltage substation projects
- Training and mentoring less experienced staff
- BSEE degree
- 6+ years of experience specifying, configuring and producing engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations
- Extensive background in power system protection and control
- PE license preferred but not required
- Experience with Southern California Edison (SCE) standards a plus
- Proven experience managing a team and excellent communication, organizational and writing skills
