Position Overview:


The role of an orthodontic clinical support specialist is to guarantee that every patient receives personalized, high-quality service during each treatment visit.


Key Responsibilities:
Arrive at least 15 minutes before the clinical day begins, prepared and engaged for the team morning meeting.

Ensure patients enjoy a positive experience by delivering care in a welcoming atmosphere.

This includes timely patient transitions for scheduled appointments and greeting each patient by name upon arrival.

The objective is to build rapport with patients and engage with families on a personal level (i.e., team members remembering details about each patient).

Function as a chairside clinical support specialist, showcasing expertise in all facets of orthodontic assistance, including but not limited to, capturing photographs, taking radiographs (panoramic and lateral cephalometric), creating impressions, digital scanning (iTero), reties, wire adjustments, initial bracket placements, bracket repositioning, expander placements/checks, aligner and retainer deliveries and checks, and Essix retainer fabrication.

Exhibit proficiency in orthodontic terminology and language, enabling the clinical support specialist to accurately document chart notes using the terms and abbreviations employed by the practice.

Demonstrate competence in orthodontic practice management software, allowing the specialist to schedule follow-up visits chairside and assist the administrative team as needed.

Efficiently manage clinical chair operations to accommodate 12-15 patients daily in a timely manner.

Provide guidance to patients and parents throughout the orthodontic process.

This includes initial expander guidance, brace adjustment instructions, oral hygiene education at the start and throughout treatment, initial aligner guidance, and retainer instructions.

Assist in the sterilization of instruments using cold sterile, dry-heat, and autoclave methods.

Collaborate with other team members, both clinical and administrative, to ensure smooth daily operations.

Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervising doctor.

Qualifications:
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates)

Dental x-ray certification is required.
