Program Planning and Control Specialist

At Blue Origin, we're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. We're seeking a skilled Program Planning and Control Specialist to join our team of problem solvers and contribute to the history of spaceflight.

This role will directly impact the development of robust program plans, ensuring the timely delivery, quality, and transparency of program performance data and schedules. You will work closely with our Program Managers and Integrated Product Teams to develop and maintain program plans for various spaceflight systems.

As a Program Planning and Control Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining program plans, including integrated master schedules with resource loading
  • Partnering with technical leadership to support the resource loading of schedules and analyze resource requirements
  • Supporting change management initiatives and incorporating approved baseline changes into the schedule
  • Leading reviews to gather status updates from stakeholders and data sources, maintaining schedule health, and analyzing logic for accuracy
  • Providing program leadership insight to status, schedule risk, and recommended risk mitigations
  • Partnering with Program Cost Analysts to maintain integrated cost and schedule plans

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Project Management, or Engineering
  • Experience with integrated master schedules with resource loading using Primavera (P6), Open Plan, MS Project, or other software
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience with Agile Project Management and leading teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience and comfort with working in ambiguous environments and situations
  • Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • 5+ years of experience in program scheduling/planning and controls
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Project)
  • Strong communication skills in technical work environments
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Experience establishing new program schedules
  • Experience in aerospace research and development and manufacturing environments
  • IPMR Customer Deliverables on EVM-required contracts
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting
  • Expert user of Primavera P6
  • Experience with Deltek Cobra, Empower, or other cost/schedule integration and analysis tools
  • Successful support of programs through DCMA/DCAA, joint site surveillance, or other government audits
  • Proposal support including translation of BOEs into IMS's upon award
  • MBA, or Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager or equivalent)
