Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations specific to the aerospace industry.
- Oversee Adherence to Environmental Standards: Oversee adherence to environmental standards relevant to aerospace manufacturing operations.
- Maintain and Manage Records: Maintain and manage records and documentation related to safety protocols and procedures.
- Establish Departmental Safety Goals: Establish departmental safety goals and monitor key performance indicators, such as incident rates.
- Assess and Control Workplace Hazards: Assess and control workplace hazards, including exposure to chemicals, noise, and other environmental factors.
- Conduct Safety Training Sessions: Conduct safety training sessions, disseminate safety bulletins, and lead employee meetings to foster safety awareness.
- Stay Updated on Safety Practices: Stay updated on the latest safety practices and hazard prevention techniques, particularly those relevant to aerospace manufacturing.
- Collaborate with OSHA and Internal Teams: Collaborate with OSHA and internal teams during safety audits and inspections.
- Communicate with Employees: Communicate regularly with employees to identify safety risks and address concerns.
Requirements:
- Education: BS/BA degree in Environmental Safety, Safety is preferred, or an equivalent of 5+ years of experience in a safety-related role.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in safety roles, focusing on investigations, equipment safety, risk management, EHS, and OSHA compliance, ideally within aerospace, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Knowledge and Skills: Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and OSHA standards. Strong ability to identify unsafe behaviors or conditions and recommend improvements. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Effective communication and influence skills to engage with all levels of management and various departments.
