Resident District Manager SFO Airport Job Summary

As a Resident District Manager at Compass Group USA, you will oversee the management of a large multi-unit dining account at SFO Airport. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the point of contact for the client and lead the team within the account, ensuring the overall operation meets operational and financial goals in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team at the account, focusing on providing exceptional service to clients, students, and the community.
  • Drive and develop self and team towards building strong relationships with clients and achieving key performance indicators (profitability, safety, employee engagement, etc.).
  • Participate in district leadership team discussions, sharing best practices, mitigating risks, championing diversity, and building community.
  • Ensure decisions are weighed for risk/reward and short/long-term implications, gathering input from the team and partners.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, understanding, education, safety, and accountability at the account.
  • Serve as the representative/brand ambassador of Compass Group USA within SFO Airport and the community, attending key client and community events.
  • Ensure client needs are met or exceeded, retaining the account, finding cross-sell opportunities, and assisting in the rebid process as directed.
  • Support functional areas of operation, including safety, marketing, nutrition, and culinary.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, federal, and company policies, conducting unit audits to ensure conformance for key areas (e.g., food storage, sanitation).
  • Maintain compliance with USDA regulations and guidance for all applicable meal and retail programs, completing all required reporting on time.
  • Champion development within the account, conducting performance evaluations, and succession planning for the account, with a full understanding of all roles within the operation.
  • Own the financial results for the account, working with leadership to ensure accuracy for reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Ensure consistent and fair administration of all policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Educational minimum and work experience per USDA Professional Standards for the account(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of three (3) years of management experience, preferably in foodservice, hospitality management, plant operations management, environmental services, laundry, or other Support Services area.
  • Well-versed in all aspects of foodservice management with a proven track record of success.
  • Proven track record of leading a business and a team, strong customer service, and good business and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative, critical thinking, ownership, communications (listening, written, and verbal), multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Champions the inclusion mindset, and is proactive, positive, professional, and resilient.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and POS software.
