- Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members and provide recommendations to the Valet Manager.
- Develop and manage staff schedules to guarantee optimal service levels, even if it requires stepping into the valet role as needed.
- Utilize initiative and sound judgment to facilitate smooth departmental operations.
- Ensure that valet areas are well-maintained and adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
- Monitor parking facilities for unauthorized access or tampering.
- Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation regulations and communicate updates to management.
- Adhere to all established guest service standards.
- Supervise special projects assigned to the valet department.
- When assuming the role of Dual Rate Valet Supervisor, the team member may temporarily serve as a Valet Attendant but cannot revert to the supervisory role within the same shift.
- Ensure the safe and proper operation of all valet equipment.
- Complete performance appraisals for team members in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback.
- Manage inventory and supplies within the department effectively.
- Maintain compliance with Rivers Casino Portsmouth's standards for team member documentation and audits.
- Provide shuttle services for hotel and casino guests as required.
- Obtain managerial approval for any shuttle services beyond the standard operational radius.
- Welcome guests with a positive demeanor and assist them during quieter periods.
- Demonstrate agility in moving between vehicles as necessary.
- Follow all cash handling protocols diligently.
- Answer the valet phone promptly, maintaining professional communication standards.
- Ensure proper organization of guest keys and tags.
- Keep the valet area and casino entrance clean and free of debris.
- Maintain accurate logs and records throughout the shift.
- Exhibit the ability to multitask effectively across various activities and assignments.
- Distribute valet tickets and conduct thorough inspections of vehicles prior to parking.
- Provide strong leadership to guarantee that guests receive friendly, efficient, and accurate service and information, while upholding operational quality standards for maximum guest satisfaction and cost efficiency.
- Participate in the hiring process for new team members in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in the training and retraining of all department personnel.
- Prepare and deliver team member evaluations following company guidelines.
- Maintain precise personnel and departmental records.
- Responsible for creating schedules that promote efficient guest service.
- Effectively manage team members through planning, directing, and assigning tasks; address any team member concerns and resolve conflicts; provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as necessary; and offer feedback on performance through evaluations and regular one-on-one meetings.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision required.
- Proficient in computer applications and various office software.
- Ability to operate different types of vehicles with both standard and automatic transmissions.
- Willingness to work as a Valet Attendant when necessary.
- Strong communication skills with both team members and guests.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process and work flexible shifts, including holidays.
- Capability to obtain and maintain all required licenses.
- Valid Virginia Driver's License.
- Gaming license/registration as mandated by local regulations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and seek assistance when needed.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively engage with guests.
- Prior experience in valet management or customer service roles is essential.
