Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Personnel Services Specialist to join our team in the Leave Management department. As a key member of our Human Resources team, you will be responsible for administering leave programs, including FMLA, FSWP, Sick Leave Transfer Plan, Worker's Compensation, and Military Leave.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process leave requests to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct research and analysis to provide customer service and assistance to supervisors and managers.
  • Document all calls, requests, and actions in the appropriate information system/tracking database.
  • Prepare and mail correspondence regarding leave management matters.
  • Create and update Excel, Word, and People First systems, spreadsheets, logs, processes, and documents.
  • Assist with special projects and provide input for developing solutions to Human Resource issues or concerns.
Requirements
  • Two years of professional Human Resources experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer software, including applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the Department's and Department of Management Services' Personnel rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of People First.
  • Knowledge of research methods and tools, personal computers, data collection, and analysis.
  • Skilled in business professional written and verbal communication.
  • Skilled in research techniques, analysis, and operating personal computers.
  • Skilled in time management.
  • Skilled in learning strategies using multiple approaches when learning.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to compose correspondence.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
