Job Overview

Position Summary: The Regional Quality Assurance Leader is responsible for overseeing the Quality Teams across all North American Production Facilities while ensuring the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide Quality Teams at each facility, supporting all ISO 9001:2015 related activities, with a strong focus on enhancing audit preparedness and comprehension.
  • Act as the Management Liaison for ISO 9001:2015 across all locations.
  • Ensure proper Documentation, Retention, and Organization practices are upheld.
  • Monitor inputs and outputs related to ISO, maintain the management system to meet or exceed ISO 9001:2015 standards, assist with internal and external audits, and enhance the internal audit framework.
  • Establish and uphold quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee Quality within the injection molding facility, collaborating with Shift Leaders and Quality personnel to resolve issues.
  • Evaluate new materials through testing.
  • Support the assessment and resolution of warranty-related concerns.
  • Conduct analyses of quality challenges stemming from internal or external factors, utilizing problem-solving methodologies such as root cause analysis, and implement proactive measures through corrective actions. Additionally, initiate continuous improvement initiatives to address the root causes of quality discrepancies, thereby mitigating risks.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain members to guarantee that the quality of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies aligns with the company's quality expectations. The Quality Manager will establish standards with suppliers, enforce inspection protocols, and oversee incoming inspections.
  • In conjunction with the Material Manager and other departments, evaluate supplier quality and delivery performance, regularly issuing supplier assessments based on quality and delivery metrics, including monitoring corrective actions and follow-ups.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach by providing guidance and tools to ensure that products and services meet customer specifications. The Regional Quality Assurance Leader will track feedback from both internal and external customers to identify quality trends impacting customer satisfaction and will liaise with customers to address any concerns, including on-site visits and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with quality departments to review and enhance quality plans while minimizing risks through the implementation of continuous improvement strategies.
  • Utilize appropriate statistical techniques as necessary.
  • Lead problem-solving and corrective action teams at various facilities as required.
  • Coordinate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to develop workflows and procedures for new product introductions.
  • Employ tools such as Design FMEAs, Process FMEAs, and control plans as needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Quality Manager, preferably in a plastics manufacturing setting, leading a cross-functional team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Statistical Process Control software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset (capable of advocating ideas and fostering teamwork).
  • Willingness to travel to supplier or customer sites as necessary – approximately 20% of the time.
  • Dependable and trustworthy.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently.
