Job Title: Camp Specialty Instructor

At the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, we're seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Camp Specialty Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our day camp program, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and safe experiences for children, while promoting our values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs and interests of our campers, focusing on specialized topics that enrich their overall experience.
  • Lead programming that is fun, interactive, and safe, ensuring a high level of service to participants.
  • Manage site cleanliness and maintain a safe environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with the Youth Development Director to address concerns related to student development and behavior.
  • Stay up-to-date on current issues and best practices in day camp programming.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1+ years of experience working with children in a structured setting preferred.
  • Background and expertise in a specialty area, such as arts and crafts, sports, or STEM.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and possess effective time management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality.
  • CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment and maintenance throughout employment.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior work experience specifically with teens.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Current certifications in First Aid/CPR; must obtain any other certifications required for the position.
