Job Title: FWS Writing Coach

About the Role:

The Center for Writing and Academic Success at Saybrook University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated FWS Writing Coach to join its team. As a Writing Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting students in developing their writing skills, providing one-on-one coaching, and creating supporting documents and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one coaching support to students to help them develop their writing skills
  • Create supporting documents and materials to aid in the coaching process
  • Write case studies/reports about completed sessions to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Coordinate with students to schedule coaching sessions at least 2 days in advance
  • Participate in weekly team meetings with writing center staff to discuss progress and share best practices
  • Complete training modules to enhance coaching skills and knowledge
  • On occasion, assist in facilitating breakout rooms during CWAS events

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Eligibility for Federal Work Study (FWS)
  • Competent college-level reading comprehension and writing skills
  • Commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week of work

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience tutoring or teaching
  • Prior experience working with students remotely
  • Prior experience facilitating online workshops or seminars
