Holtec International is currently seeking a senior nuclear analysis specialist to support design, licensing, sales, and manufacturing of its products. This position requires a highly motivated individual with flexibility and willingness to work on a wide array of technical and regulatory topics.

The successful candidate will have experience with CASMO/SIMULATE, MCNP, or other similar analysis code packages and will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Criticality and shielding analyses of spent fuel storage pools and dry cask storage systems for domestic and international clients
  • Design, modeling, and analyses of the nuclear core and evaluation of the fuel cycle performance for the SMR-300 passive, natural circulation, integral light water reactor
  • Report preparation and review
  • Computer code validation and verification
  • Participation in meetings with clients and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission

We offer a competitive salary of $130,000 - $190,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements include:

  • Masters degree in Nuclear Engineering or Physics from an accredited college or university
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge of nuclear power plant operations and physics
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with CASMO/SIMULATE, MCNP, or other similar analysis code packages

We also desire candidates with a PhD in Nuclear Engineering, 2+ years of experience in the nuclear industry, and experience with computer languages such as Python or Awk.
