About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Nuclear Fuel Specialist to join our team at Holtec International. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for performing advanced technical and engineering problem-solving in support of nuclear fuel and plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage nuclear fuels engineering analysis, activities, and programs
  • Collaborate with fuel vendors to ensure fuel and core component design requirements align with SMR-160 licensing activities
  • Design, model, and analyze nuclear cores and fuel systems using engineering computer codes and empirical methods
  • Conduct calculations to confirm safe plant operation and provide initial fuel rod conditions for downstream safety analyses
  • Prepare reports and licensing documentation
  • Participate in meetings with clients, collaborators, and regulatory bodies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or closely related field from an accredited institution
  • 3-5 years of experience in the nuclear industry or academia/national laboratory
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • General knowledge of nuclear fuels and power plant operations/physics
  • Demonstrated experience with nuclear fuel performance or structural analysis software

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
