Holtec International is seeking a Nuclear Safety Expert to join our team at SMR LLC. As a member of our team, you will contribute to the design and development of safe and secure sources of clean energy using nuclear fission.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of accident analysis codes, including RELAP, MELCOR, RADTRAD, and/or GOTHIC, as well as atmospheric dispersion modeling using ARCON96 or an equivalent code. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role. The estimated salary for this position is around $110,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct severe accident and containment response analyses using RELAP, MELCOR, RADTRAD, and/or GOTHIC
  • Develop and execute atmospheric dispersion analysis using ARCON96 or equivalent code
  • Provide technical guidance to other team members on accident analysis codes
  • Review and provide critical comments on vendor-related products

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in application of accident analysis codes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
