Position Overview

The role of a Mental Health Technician is vital in providing essential support within the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit. This position involves collaborating with unit personnel to deliver comprehensive Psychiatric Rehabilitative services to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in facilitating structured activities that promote patient engagement and recovery.
  • Support patients with personal care requirements, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
  • Contribute to discharge planning efforts, helping patients transition smoothly to their next steps.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies as needed to uphold a secure and therapeutic atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in psychiatric care, is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English clearly and effectively.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory at the time of hire or within six months.
  • Phlebotomy training is required at the time of hire or within six months.
