Gator Dredging - Marine Quality Assurance Supervisor

An exciting opportunity is available for a Marine Quality Assurance Supervisor. We are seeking a qualified professional with a minimum of 3 years' experience in marine construction and quality assurance management.

Compensation Range for This Role: $75,000 to $120,000 annually. This is determined based on prior experience, skill set, and relevant certifications.

Role Purpose for The Marine Quality Assurance Supervisor:

  • Overseeing and executing the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) along with any associated technical plans for Federal coastal engineering and construction projects.
  • Drafting the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and related technical documentation for various client projects.
  • Managing documentation input and control within the Federal Resident Management System (RMS) for applicable projects.
  • Collaborating with the operations engineering team and survey division to gather, analyze, and present all project-related data concerning quality assurance.
  • Engaging with company leadership to evaluate technical data and reports.

Key Responsibilities for The Marine Quality Assurance Supervisor:

  • Overseeing technical construction elements of marine and coastal engineering projects.
  • Providing technical guidance to onsite personnel and management to align with client schedules and objectives.
  • Reviewing detailed working drawings and assisting in the preparation of plans, specifications, and permit documents.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to explore alternative design and construction methods.
  • Addressing technical conflicts that may arise during project execution.
  • Conducting training sessions as necessary.
  • Traveling to project sites for extended periods, typically ranging from 3 to 12 months.
  • Monitoring daily quality practices and conducting ongoing inspections to reduce the need for corrections.
  • Staying informed about new and emerging technologies.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for The Marine Quality Assurance Supervisor:

  • Understanding of marine construction, engineering, and surveying principles.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and the ability to research and learn quickly.
  • Capability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
  • Ability to analyze engineering and surveying data and draw sound conclusions.
  • Proficiency in using engineering and surveying tools.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate hand-held GPS RTK rover (survey-grade GPS).
  • Skill in preparing and submitting clear, concise reports both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
  • Capability to operate survey and work vessels up to 25' in length.
  • Ability to drive standard-sized vehicles and trailers.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in quality control or related roles, preferably as a Quality Control Manager on Federal projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with AutoCAD, HYPACK, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • USACE CQM-C Certification or the ability to obtain it within 3 months of employment.
  • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and Blood Borne Pathogen certifications or the ability to obtain them within 6 months of employment.

Qualifications for The Marine Quality Assurance Supervisor:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, surveying, geomatics, construction management, or equivalent technical training from an accredited institution.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's license.

Physical Demands/Work Environment for The Marine Quality Assurance Supervisor:

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands, and communicate; frequently reaching with hands; occasionally standing, walking, climbing, or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Regularly lifting up to 10 pounds; frequently lifting up to 25 pounds; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
