We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respite Care Provider to join our team at Children's Home Network. As a Respite Care Provider, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Assure adequate supervision and assistance of the individual receiving services at all times, including personal hygiene and other assisted daily living skills as needed.
- Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
- Wash hands before and after performing any service for the client.
- Assure nutritious meals are available to the individual.
- Assist the program supervisor and parent/guardian in developing and implementing a Family Support Plan for the person receiving services.
- Assure medications are available and taken as prescribed, when necessary, only as the program supervisor has determined.
- Assist the individual with scheduling, arranging or providing accessible services.
- Keep progress notes that reflect the goals and objectives.
- Provide required documentation in a timely manner, including timesheets and care provider reports.
- Maintain a good working relationship with the family of the individual for which you are providing services, and with the program supervisor.
- Meet on a regular basis with your immediate supervisor.
- Work only hours as scheduled and notify your supervisor of any necessary changes.
- Attend training and meetings as requested by supervisor.
- Participate in Family Team Conferences for families.
- Actively participate in a multidisciplinary team to discuss family progress, identified needs, support plans and methods of increasing effectiveness of the group's teamwork.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Caregiver Support Services.
- Work within the philosophy and function of Children's Home Network.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Two years post-secondary education in human services, preferred.
- Previous experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license with no record of criminal driving offense or license suspension.
- Must possess means of providing job-related transportation and show proof of required insurance.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background checks, and sexual predator screening.

- Knowledge of child abuse or neglect reporting procedures and methods.
- Knowledge of infant and child development, inclusive of developmentally appropriate strategies.
- Knowledge of intervention and behavior management methods, strategies, and techniques.
- Knowledge of quality documentation as required by agency standards, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to conduct assessments to develop family plans, and to provide follow-up services.
- Ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team member in a positive productive manner.
- Visual: ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, read printed materials, and make observations of physical facilities.
- Hearing: ability to understand and comprehend spoken dialogue in individual and group settings.
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively.
