Position: Quality Assurance Specialist
Working Hours: 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality benchmarks.
- Analyze inspection criteria, work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and specifications to identify appropriate inspection techniques for product validation.
- Offer technical insights to engineering teams concerning discrepancies and opportunities for enhancement.
- Make acceptance or rejection decisions based on inspection outcomes and document results in alignment with Quality Management System protocols.
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing basic measurement instruments, including Micrometers, Calipers, and Height Gauges. Experience with automated inspection tools, such as CMM or Faro Arm, is advantageous.
- Exhibit a readiness to work additional hours as necessary to fulfill production requirements.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience in executing First Article Inspections in AS9102 format is beneficial.
- Adept at performing Root Cause Analysis for both internal and external non-conformances.
- Willingness to mentor other team members as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Ability to communicate professionally and objectively, both in written and verbal forms, across all organizational levels.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
- Able to work independently or collaboratively, depending on workload demands.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in precision manufacturing; familiarity with sheet metal, welding, and machining fabrication is preferred.
- Competent in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints, with a working knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5M-2009) principles being advantageous.
- Basic understanding of shop mathematics, with a willingness to learn geometric propositions and trigonometric functions. Knowledge of sheet metal flat pattern development is a plus.
- Familiarity with statistical sampling plans such as ANSI Z1.4 and C=0.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, is preferred.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
