Adult Congenital Heart Disease Healthcare Provider

We are seeking a skilled Adult Congenital Heart Disease Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Texas Children's Hospital. The ideal candidate will have experience in Congenital Heart Disease, Cardiology, or CVICU and be able to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage patients' caseloads, obtaining comprehensive health, developmental, and family histories as documented in the patient's medical record.
  • Perform or recommend age-appropriate health screening procedures and provide health maintenance and health promotion for children of all ages.
  • Collaborate with physicians to formulate differential diagnoses and develop plans of care, accurately evaluating patient responses to interventions and modifying the plan as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, serving as an educational resource and applying new knowledge relevant to pediatric nursing to clinical practice.
  • Participate in departmental Quality Improvement programs and maintain knowledge base through reading professional literature, attending staff development, and continuing education programs annually.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent required for Nurse Practitioners; Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Texas or Nursing Licensure Compact.
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Congenital Heart Disease, Cardiology, or CVICU highly desirable.
