We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. The ideal candidate will have expertise in surgical oncology and a strong passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist supervising physicians with evaluating and assessing patients to determine treatment plans.
- See post-operative patients independently and provide follow-up care.
- Perform or order diagnostic procedures, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, and interpret results.
- Administer therapeutic procedures, such as injections and suturing, and provide wound care.
- Provide health education and instructions to patients on prescribed therapeutic regimens and home care.
- Maintain accurate records and write progress notes on patient charts.
- Collaborate with faculty and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
For Physician Assistant: Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies and current licensure as a Physician Assistant by the State of Texas Physician Assistant Board. Specialty certification as required by the department and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
For Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree in Nursing and current APRN license. Specialty certification as required by the department and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
