Core Responsibilities:
- Support clients with daily personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in enjoyable and meaningful activities.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Transport clients to appointments and run errands as necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, their families, and the Friends and Family Home Care team.
- Keep accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- A compassionate and patient attitude with a sincere desire to assist others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adhere to care plans and work independently.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to commute if needed.
Essential Requirements:
- Must have a vehicle for commuting to and from work.
- Must possess a working phone for reliable communication with the office.
- Must have a Social Security number (no under-the-table hires).
- Must have or be willing to register with the California Department of Social Services.
- Must have or be willing to undergo a tuberculosis test.
- Must have or be willing to complete an online caregiver training course, which provides a yearly training certificate.
Work Locations:
We serve clients throughout Southern California. While we aim to connect you with clients in your local area, there may be a waiting period to find the ideal match. If you are open to commuting, you may have the opportunity to start working sooner. Please note that if you prefer to work closer to home, placement may take longer.
Compensation:
- Competitive pay following a 3-month probationary period at our starting rate.
