We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.
Job Summary:The Direct Support Professional will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and advocating for their needs.
Responsibilities:- Support individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in accessing community resources and services.
- Document and report on individual progress and needs.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive support.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
- Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
