We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.
Job Summary:The Direct Support Professional will provide personalized support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and advocating for their needs.
Responsibilities:- Support individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, promoting their mental and emotional well-being.
- Assist individuals with accessing community resources, such as healthcare services, education, and employment opportunities.
- Advocate for individuals' rights and needs, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
- Collaborate with other support staff and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
- Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 and Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
