MAXAM Tire North America – National Logistics Operations Manager

Position Report – President of Maxam Tire

Location – This role will be based full-time in a designated Maxam Tire facility.

Summary/Objective

Maxam Tire, a subsidiary of the Sailun Group, is a prominent manufacturer and distributor specializing in off-the-road tire solutions.

The National Logistics Operations Manager plays a crucial role in advancing our business strategy, which is focused on our core mission of being a “Business Solutions Provider” and our vision of “Ensuring the Quality of the Customer Experience” within the Specialty Tire sector. This position necessitates close collaboration with the Maxam Sales team and the Shared Service Supply Chain group. The incumbent will work directly with the President of Maxam, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and the Sailun Shared Service group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the Distribution and Operations across North America.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide monthly reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures at all distribution centers, making necessary updates as required.
  • Achieve financial targets by developing an annual budget, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Manage the onboarding process for Outbound Freight Vendors and oversee freight invoice approvals.
  • Ensure adherence to established Outbound Logistics procedures.
  • Support various projects from operational, financial, and resource perspectives.
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to facilitate smooth operational processes.
  • Oversee facility design, enhancements, and contractual agreements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Act as a mentor and coach for team members as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the operational unit's needs or the President.
  • Assist Warehouse Managers in recruiting and onboarding new staff, ensuring thorough documentation and progress tracking.
  • Collaborate with planners on inventory management and logistics flow.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Travel Requirements

National and international travel will be necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

Proficient in coordination, information analysis, process enhancement, initiative, customer focus, goal orientation, strategic thinking, process management, time management, and safety oversight. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with colleagues and management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities with a focus on achieving results. Strong financial acumen and business insight. Demonstrated teamwork, adaptability, active listening, positive demeanor, and patience.

Required Education & Experience:

A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or a related field.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution management.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in operations or facility management.

Experience in budgeting, project management, and supervisory roles.

Experience collaborating with third-party logistics providers.

Familiarity with OSHA and health and safety regulations.

Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse team across various disciplines.
