Job Description

Our client, a leading retail company with over $80B in annual revenue, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager II to join their team. As a Technical Program Manager II, you will be responsible for leading the development of technical solutions within the infrastructure team that enable the business to achieve its objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the company brands and business/IT departments to identify needs, review, and process through the Cross Functional Induction Review Board.
  • Connect regularly with the Domain Architect team to align on strategic technology direction.
  • Lead the development and design of technical solutions within the infrastructure team, and support department leaders.
  • Establish solutions as projects in the annual Infrastructure portfolio.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure Services Director to establish priorities for Infrastructure projects, identify dependencies, recommend sequencing and consolidation.
  • Support Infrastructure Portfolio Project requests throughout the approval process, defining scope, cost, schedule, resources, and strategy.
  • Conduct 'As-Is' to 'To-Be' Business Cases for technical solutions, clarifying value and return on investment.
  • Interact with Portfolio project managers in the definition, initiation, and implementation of infrastructure projects.
  • Be a trusted advisor to our great local brands, IT and business partners.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and service offerings within industry and marketplace.
  • Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs.
  • Aide in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes and coordinating preparations of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts.
  • Develop new business and expand product line.
  • Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Perform a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Typically reports to a unit/department head.
Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Work experience in technology.
  • Communicates in a clear, compelling, and concise manner both verbally and in writing. Effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one, small, and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels.
  • Collect and analyze information, problem solve and make decisions.
  • Provide recommendations that include solution benefits, risk assessments, and business cases.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Proactively develops relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Strategic focus (sees the big picture, imagines future scenarios, and creates strategies to sustain competitive advantage).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in IT in a retail organization.
  • Experience in Infrastructure (Network, Hosting, End User Technology).
  • Depth in technical, business, and financial expertise in technology solutions, as well as understanding of customer processes and business operations.
  • Experience communicating technical information to business clients.
  • Presentation skills (presents ideas in a compelling manner that gains commitment from others).
  • Task Oriented.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Ability to speak and engage at executive level.
  • Great Excel and Reporting Skills.
  • Relationship building.
  • Self-contributing but also able to manage relationships to get the overall task done.
  • Fast faced and retail oriented.
