Position Title: Tax Compliance Specialist

Role Overview:

The Tax Compliance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the meticulous management of recordkeeping, registration, renewal, and research activities related to federal, local, and state compliance. This includes the essential processes for establishing operations in new jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive lifecycle operational contract reviews and ensure proper record retention.
  • Provide essential backup support for project contract and non-disclosure agreement (NDA) evaluations.
  • Lead the annual insurance renewal process, facilitating necessary coverage adjustments between renewal periods.
  • Perform in-depth research on legal and regulatory requirements as necessary.
  • Prepare and file monthly or quarterly receipts or excise tax reports.
  • Deliver administrative support in alignment with finance policies and procedures.
  • Assist in organizational support for S179D eligible project submissions and manage the R&D Tax credit process in collaboration with external partners.
  • Support internal workplans and projects within the Finance Department.
  • Administer shareholder records and coordinate stock purchasing activities.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or transactional accounting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in tax compliance and contract analysis.
  • Strong understanding of general tax regulations applicable to federal and state jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency in Accounting ERP software.
  • Intermediate expertise in Excel, particularly with pivot tables.

Employment Type:

This role is structured as a Contract-to-Hire position, initially lasting for 6 months.

Work Arrangement:

This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days of remote work.
