The Compliance Audit Analyst will represent our organization in various public forums and community events. Key ResponsibilitiesThis role is pivotal in ensuring financial compliance and supporting our financial operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting internal compliance audits following established procedures.
- Reviewing and analyzing financial transactions.
- Preparing and interpreting financial reports.
- Participating in process enhancement initiatives.
- Collaborating with the Finance team and other departments.
- Perform financial, process, and compliance audits, including preparation of workpapers.
- Assist external auditors with necessary year-end testing.
- Audit energy efficiency and renewable energy incentive payments regularly to ensure compliance with policies.
- Draft audit reports and test financial controls.
- Review program implementation manuals annually.
- Communicate effectively with various departments and external contractors.
- Ensure adherence to nonprofit and grant compliance regulations.
- Recommend improvements in financial processes and reporting.
- Monitor the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Document workflows and maintain updated procedures.
- Engage in departmental projects and testing as required.
- Collaborate with peers in the Finance department to meet objectives.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of internal audit or relevant experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in software applications such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and MS Office.
- Ability to create accurate workpapers and document business processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to evaluate facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent customer service skills, particularly in diverse environments.
