Job Title: Broadcast Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Systems Engineer to join our team at Nexstar Broadcasting. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for the integrity of all our technical and broadcast systems, including media servers, routing systems, file distribution systems, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of all technical facilities, including complex broadcast production equipment systems and computer and data network assets.
  • Rapid diagnosis and resolution of problems during live broadcasts, ensuring production continuity and meeting on-air deadlines.
  • Participation in the design, development, and deployment of broadcast production equipment systems and computer and network assets.
  • Training and education of operations staff in the operation of equipment and systems.
  • Meticulous adherence to preventative maintenance routines for all systems.
  • Collaboration with system vendors and technology partners to install and configure equipment and software, solve system problems, and implement solutions and upgrades.
  • Overseeing routine maintenance, annual inspections, and audits of all physical, plant, and building systems.
  • IT Helpdesk responsibilities for production staff working on live broadcasts.
Requirements & Skills:
  • Experience in broadcast system engineering and live broadcast environments.
  • B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Notable experience related to broadcast systems design and experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Windows, and MAC operating systems.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment for installation/maintenance when required.
