Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer comprehensive credit and collections policies and programs.
  • Implement and monitor processes to enhance cash flow, minimize receivables, and ensure the accuracy of accounts receivable records.
  • Approve new customer accounts, establish credit limits, and interface with customers, sales teams, and bulk plant operations to collect delinquent balances.
  • Maintain optimal accounts receivable balances aligned with economic conditions and business objectives.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve outstanding issues and balances; handle escalated collection matters effectively.
  • Consult with management and relevant staff on complex collections and deductions requiring specialized attention.
  • Generate reports and analytics for senior management to monitor risk, collection activities, and trends. Provide insights into high-risk accounts and recommend resolutions.
  • Cultivate strong customer relationships to maximize value; communicate regularly via email and telephone with customers and internal colleagues.
  • Oversee the filing of liens and lien releases; consult with legal counsel when necessary.
  • Establish and nurture external business/industry relationships, including attorneys, collection agencies, credit bureaus, and The National Association of Credit Management (NACM).
  • Continuously explore opportunities to automate, streamline, or eliminate tasks within the credit department to enhance processes and reduce costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in financial and credit roles, preferably within the petroleum, manufacturing, or construction industries.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial, legal, UCC, and Bankruptcy principles.
  • Familiarity with credit procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, trade journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Excellent customer service skills; strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate and manage effectively at all levels.
