Job Responsibilities and Requirements

As a Registered Nurse in Endoscopy, you will play a crucial role in fulfilling the mission and vision of our organization by applying the nursing process in the planning, execution, and assessment of care provided to surgical and gastrointestinal patients during their procedures. Your responsibilities will include ensuring safe and effective nursing care until patients are transitioned to recovery. You will also take on the roles of circulating or scrub nurse for patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of surgical and GI procedures while managing instrument and equipment setup.
  • Oversee the operating room during procedures in the role of circulator.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between procedures.
  • Utilize and update preference cards as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Nursing Diploma required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an outpatient surgery center.
  • Current RN license or appropriate compact licensure.
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification is not acceptable.
  • ACLS certification as required by the facility.
  • CNOR / SGNA certification is preferred.
