Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor - Full Time
Location: Framingham, MA
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, execute, and oversee comprehensive safety, accident prevention, and fire safety initiatives for significant infrastructure projects.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Safety Managers and safety personnel.
  • Assess requirements and establish specifications for protective safety gear and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and monitor hazardous work conditions or unsafe practices among employees.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation and reports are accurate and submitted according to established protocols.
  • Maintain a Safety and Health Program that aligns with or surpasses corporate standards.
  • Design, communicate, and enforce the Project Safety Program while identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Organize and facilitate Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings with subcontractors, ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations.
  • Manage all administrative responsibilities related to project-specific safety documentation, including OSHA record-keeping and management reports.
  • Review and validate all subcontractors' Site-Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analyses prior to their mobilization.
  • Perform regular site assessments, follow up on corrective actions, and track improvements.
  • Participate in management meetings and oversee Tool Box Talks to ensure proper documentation and quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of job site incidents, collecting necessary documentation and collaborating with local and Risk Management teams.
  • Ensure proper training documentation for employees related to their job functions.
  • Deliver in-house training on various health and safety topics.
  • Assist with OSHA inspections, compliance assessments, and audits from insurance providers and other regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with senior and line management as well as project teams to uphold organizational SH&E compliance.
  • Implement SH&E initiatives and provide training.
  • Manage risk and claims effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field along with industry-recognized certifications such as CSP, CHST, or CIH are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety within the Heavy Construction sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant government regulations, safety compliance, and industrial hygiene practices.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to understand organizational dynamics, communicate effectively, and positively influence team members.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety protocols.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • OSHA Outreach Trainer certification for the Construction Industry, CHST, and/or Certified Safety Professional certification preferred.
  • Team-oriented and driven professional.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and 14001 standards.
