Position: EHS Manager - Full Time Location: Framingham, MA
Role Overview:
The EHS Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety and health programs within the organization. This includes:
- Developing, executing, and managing comprehensive safety, accident prevention, and fire safety initiatives for major projects.
- Leading a team of Safety Managers and safety personnel to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.
- Assessing needs and establishing specifications for safety equipment and protective gear.
- Monitoring and inspecting work environments to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions or unsafe practices.
- Ensuring all safety records and reports are meticulously maintained and submitted in accordance with established protocols.
- Implementing and maintaining a Safety and Health Program that aligns with corporate standards.
- Identifying and promoting opportunities for enhancements in the Project Safety Program.
- Facilitating Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings with subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
- Managing all administrative duties related to project-specific safety documentation, including OSHA record-keeping.
- Reviewing and approving subcontractors' safety programs and job hazard analyses prior to their mobilization.
- Conducting regular site assessments and tracking corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
- Participating in management meetings and monitoring safety discussions to ensure proper documentation.
- Conducting thorough investigations of job site incidents, collaborating with local and risk management teams.
- Ensuring proper training documentation for employees in relation to their job functions.
- Providing in-house training on various health and safety topics.
- Assisting with inspections and compliance reviews from OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
- Collaborating with management and project teams to uphold safety compliance across the organization.
- Implementing safety programs and conducting necessary training sessions.
- Managing risk and claims effectively.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, along with industry-recognized certifications such as CSP, CHST, or CIH.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the Heavy Construction sector.
- Extensive knowledge of government regulations, safety compliance, and industrial hygiene practices.
- Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards.
- Self-motivated and proactive in approach.
- OSHA Outreach Trainer certification for the Construction Industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and 14001 standards.
