As a Behavioral Intervention Assistant (BIA), you will be instrumental in aiding students to thrive and develop. Collaborating closely with a dedicated team of professionals, you will execute tailored programs designed to assist students in achieving their maximum potential. BIAs at Turning Pointe receive extensive training to equip them with the necessary skills to effectively support our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in academic pursuits, community engagement, and essential life skills.
- Implement safety protocols and behavior intervention strategies.
- Monitor and document students' progress, collecting data to evaluate their development.
- Engage with students in various activities to foster social skills and independence.
Qualifications:
- ISBE Paraprofessional or Substitute Educator License is required.
- Experience working with individuals affected by autism is essential.
- Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies is preferred.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in therapeutic or educational settings.
- Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
- Commitment to understanding and supporting individuals with autism.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
