Job Summary

Edward-Elmhurst Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist II to join our Anxiety Outpatient Program team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct care to patients with psychiatric disorders, participate in treatment planning and implementation, and support the maintenance of a therapeutic milieu.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address psychiatric disorders.
  • Precepting and Training: Provide guidance and support to new employees and Behavioral Health Associates to ensure successful integration into the team.
  • Milieu Management: Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with departmental and organizational procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Behavioral Health-related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of previous psychiatric experience, with a focus on anxiety disorders.
  • Certifications: CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days of hire, and current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree: In a Behavioral Health-related field.
  • Teaching and Training Experience: Skills in teaching or assisting with activities of daily living, and prior experience with therapeutic limit-setting and milieu management.
