Job Summary:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides professional nursing care to clinic patients under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. This role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by the provider.
  • Assist with patient preparation, examination, and testing.
  • Observe, record, and report patient condition and reactions to treatments.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and ensure timely flow of patients.
  • Collect and record patient vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information.
  • Perform various nursing tasks, including specimen collection, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts.
  • Ensure exam rooms are prepared and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain licensure and certifications.
  • Follow CHRISTUS Health policies and procedures, including HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:

Education/Skills:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.

Experience:

  • Previous medical office experience preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • Valid state license to practice nursing.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
