About the JobThis is a temp to perm opportunity for an experienced Diesel Technician/Mechanic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing heavy duty diesel vehicles or other equipment.
Responsibilities- Maintain and/or repair all mechanical, electrical, and electronic components on commercial vehicles and equipment within standard labor guidelines.
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
- Have at least 3 years experience as a medium/heavy duty truck or school bus mechanic.
- Perform preventative maintenance per PM checklists.
- Recognize and define unsafe conditions on vehicles and potential breakdown conditions.
- Prioritize and perform needed repairs both scheduled and unscheduled.
- Ensure shop equipment is maintained and inspected according to regulations.
- Assist with scheduling vehicle downtime.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and safety according to company and OSHA regulations.
- State Inspector License is a PLUS but not required.
- CDL is preferred but not required.
- Must have some personal tools to perform the work.
The salary range for this position is estimated to be around $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
